- Xeray Systems, Inc. markets a proprietary in-tank blending system for petroleum and other liquids.
The blending system has been installed in tanks ranging from 700 barrels (29,400 gallons) up to 500,000 barrels (21,500,000 gallons). This unique system has been installed in oil terminals in Houston, New Orleans, Tampa, Philadelphia, Freeport, The Bahamas, St. Petersburg, Flex Terminal-Houston, Jacksonville Electric Authority, Florida Power Corporation, NuStar (formerly Valero Terminals and ST Services), Hydro Quebec and Mirant (Sandwich, MA).
The primary function of our blending system is to homogenize. In addition, the system keeps a tank bottom clean from sludge buildup, which in turn keeps the heating coils clean allowing one to accelerate the mixing of additive chemicals. The system reduces tank heating time, provides uniform product or feedstock and improves component blending times. The blending system can utilize air, liquid re-circulation and nitrogen as the blending medium options.
Many companies spent countless dollars to clean and maintain thier tanks. The Xeray Blending System simply keeps the bottom of the tank clean from sludge, heavy metal or contaminant build-up. The system allows a facility to take extract the same amount of product that was placed in the tank originally with little or no leftover residual.
Since our system has no moving parts it is virtually maintenance free. Installation typically takes one to two days. The cost of installation is very reasonable compared to the cost of traditional tank cleaning, downtime and maintenance.
Xeray provides consulting services to its customers. This ensures a complete and thorough install. Generally, our customers utilize locally approved fabricators when installing our blending system. Since Xeray does not manufacture or install the blender, we provide consulting to fabricators or installers before and during the installation. Installation does require tank penetration or can be temporarily connected by a jumper hose to the man way cover. Xeray provides on-site supervision of the installation and inspection. Operator training and operation manuals are included in the blender cost.
